An 11 year old Fort Worth child is in a critical condition after being hit by a Ford Expedition while walking on a sidewalk in the 1300 block of Barrel Run at approximately 9:30 a.m on Saturday morning.

According to sources, it has been reported that the driver of the vehicle – identified as 28 year old Ms. Laura Martin – had hit one or more vehicles prior to the auto accident and was witnessed driving down Sendera Ranch Blvd the wrong way, before crossing a median strip, knocking over a tree and then a school zone signal light and then driving onto the sidewalk where her vehicle collided with the young girl.

The name of the victim has not been released, however sources have indicated that she was airlifted to Cook Children’s Hospital with critical head and leg injuries.

The SUV driver has a history of arrests that have included possession of marijuana and has been charged by the Fort Worth Police Dept for driving while intoxicated.

The investigation continues.
