Colony High Students Injured

Three North Texas teens were injured, and another is on the run following two fights and a wreck Wednesday night, according to The Colony Police Department. Three teens were injured in the crash, two critically.

Authorities say it all began with a fight between two groups of Colony High School students at a home sometime before midnight. The altercation reportedly moved to a 7-Eleven convenience store at Paige Road and SH 11.

Police said the occupants of a white pickup truck began beating on a Dodge Caliber with baseball bats and sticks, smashing one of the car's windows.

High-Speed Chase

This led to a high-speed car chase through neighborhood streets which at times topped more than 70 miles per hour.

Police say the passengers in the Dodge, called 911 and alerting police about the chaos. Authorities told the teens to come to the police station. At which time, the chase came to an end when the driver of a truck lost control, hit a tree and smashed into a house near the intersection of Blair Oaks Drive and Merrell Lane.

Authorities say the impact was so intense, one person was thrown from the pickup. That person was airlifted to a hospital, and two other passengers with serious injuries were taken by ambulance. Authorities say another teen in the car, fled the scene and remains at large.

While the crash left a huge gaping hole in the garage of the home, no one inside was injured. Police say none of the occupants in the Dodge will face criminal charges, and the investigation is ongoing.
