Despite decades of research showing the link between talcum powder and ovarian cancer, Johnson & Johnson continues to manufacture and sell talcum powder products without warning consumers about the risks.

If you have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer after using any Johnson & Johnson talcum powder products for feminine hygiene, you may be able to obtain compensation through a talcum powder lawsuit.

Researchers have published studies on the connection between using talcum powder for feminine hygiene and developing ovarian cancer for more than 40 years.
A study from 1971 examined tissues from patients with ovarian or cervical tumors and revealed that talc particles were deeply embedded in the tumors.
In 1976, another group of researchers began studying a sample of more than 121,000 registered nurses between the ages of 30 and 55 to find out if they had an increased risk of developing ovarian cancer if they had used talcum powder for feminine hygiene. Researchers concluded that talcum powder use carried a modestly increased risk of “invasive, serious ovarian cancer.”
More conclusive evidence came from a study in 1982, which concluded that women who used talcum powder for feminine hygiene when they were ovulating were 92 percent more likely to be diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Researchers studied 215 white females with epithelial ovarian cancer and used another group of 215 women, matched by age, race and residence, as a control. More than 40 percent of women in the experimental group had regularly used talcum powder, compared to 28 percent in the control group.
Recent research has confirmed the conclusions from these decades-old studies. One of the researchers who conducted the 1982 study, Dr. Daniel W. Cramer, did another study in March 2016.
Cramer found that:
Despite these and other studies, Johnson & Johnson has continually failed to warn consumers about the risks of talcum powder. This failure is particularly alarming when you consider that ovarian cancer is one of the top five most lethal cancers for women.
If you have used talcum powder and been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, you may be able to file a talcum powder lawsuit to recover compensation for physical, financial and emotional damages.
No Fees Unless We Win
Victims and families who have lost loved ones to ovarian cancer have filed more than 1,000 talcum powder lawsuits against Johnson & Johnson, alleging that the company failed to provide adequate warning to consumers about talcum powder risks.
In a 2013 case, a South Dakota jury did not award damages but it did rule that:
The first talcum powder lawsuit to result in damages concluded in February 2016 in Missouri. The family of an Alabama woman who died from ovarian cancer was awarded $10 million in damages plus $62 million in punitive damages. She had used talcum powder products from Johnson & Johnson for more than 30 years.
The Missouri state jury found that Johnson & Johnson tried to boost sales by not warning consumers that talcum powder was dangerous. Johnson & Johnson was also found liable for negligence, fraud and conspiracy.
