A family is trying to come to grips with a tragic loss. A mother and her two young sons were killed after a being hit head-on in a wrong way crash early Sunday morning.

Authorities say the fatal car accident happened along U.S. Highway 67 in Alvarado at about 1:30 a.m. Investigators say the driver of the Toyota pickup may have been drinking when he drove the wrong way and crashed head-on into the 22-year-old Burleson woman’s car.

Authorities confirm finding several containers of alcohol inside the mans truck and are investigating claims he was driving in the wrong direction for several miles before the accident.

Abshire, 22 and her sons, Christopher Adrian Dominguez, 5, and Cruz Dominguez, 2, died in the crash. Abshire’s half-sister was also wounded in the North Texas crash.

I don’t know what were going to do without them, said Eldon Abshire, Maranda’s grandfather. To be honest with you, I just don’t know its so sad. We loved them so much.

Alvarado police say the investigation is ongoing, however they did confirm that all four people inside the 22-year-old mothers Mustang were properly restrained in seatbelts or secured in car seats.

As for the pickup driver, his name is yet to be released by police but authorities confirm he was flown to a hospital by air ambulance and his condition remains unknown.
