According to WFAA.com, a motorcycle accident on a Monday night in March led to the death of two people. The collision occurred on Sycamore School Road just six blocks west of the South Freeway.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, although law enforcement believes the firefighter who was driving the motorcycle may have swerved in order to prevent an accident. Fire station 28, where the victim worked was the first to respond to the accident scene. Two other victims in the collision were taken to the hospital where one died from their injuries and another’s condition was unknown.
In 2011, there were more than 479 fatal motorcycle accidents throughout the state, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. Deaths included both cyclists and their passengers.
